Vue Unity Workshops

The Vue National Association aims to improve the Vue family’s quality of life through knowledge sharing and meaningful connections by engaging all Vues. Workshops allow our Vue brothers and sisters to come together and share meaningful insights. We have many accomplished family members who have excelled in their lives, both personally and professionally, and they can share some of their wisdom and experience with us. We have eight workshops for the Vue Unity Conference. Below are the workshops and presenters.

Education Workshop - 1:00PM, Room A

Ms. Maychy Vu holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Elementary Education and has been in education for over 25 years. She is a founder and currently the executive director of HOPE (Hmong Open Partnerships in Education) Community Academy, a public charter school on the East Side of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Legal Workshop - 1:00 PM, Room B

Attorney Asia Vue holds a Doctor of Law degree and is a licensed attorney with the Washington State Bar Association. He brings over a decade of experience in the legal field and has also served as a board member for the Vue National Association, Inc.

Attorney Lilly Vue holds a Doctor of Law degree and is a California State Bar Association licensed attorney.

Family and Youth Workshop - 2:00 PM, Room A

Dr. Shao Vue holds a Doctor of Social Work and a Master of Business Administration. She is licensed to practice social work in MN, WI, and IA and has over 18 years of experience from direct social work practice to administration. She is the owner and chief executive officer of CareWell, Inc.

Dr. Kory Vue holds a Ph.D. in Educational Measurement. He is an award-winning researcher and the first Hmong psychometrician with over a decade of experience in education. He is passionate about using his background and skills to create assessments that provide meaningful insights and promote success.

Culture Workshop - 2:00 PM, Room B

XF. Wameng (Kao) Vue graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a major in Divinity and Theology. He has served in leadership roles in churches and non-profit organizations for over 30 years. Aside from his professional experience, his commitment and dedication to the Vue family are unparalleled and have been consistently demonstrated over time.

Mr. Joey Kou Vue is an active cultural leader in the Vue Family. He has completed formal classes for kab tshoob kev kos and ib siab ob qeg and served extensively in the community. His leadership and commitment to our Hmong culture serve as an example for our youth.

Business Workshop - 3:00 PM, Room A

Mrs. Maikou Vu earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has been a licensed registered nurse for 10 years and a financial advisor for over 14 years, providing financial planning and investment to clients, as well as financial education and finance research. She is currently employed as a financial advisor for Edward Jones.

Leadership Workshop - 3:00 PM, Room B

Mr. Bonnsy Vue holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Asian Studies. He is currently the Committee Legislative Assistant to Minnesota House of Representatives Jay Xiong and Ethan Cha. He is passionate about helping and empowering the Hmong by giving them access to knowledge, assistance, and resources from the state government.

Patha Da Mai Vue is the former president of the Vue Council of Wisconsin, Inc., serving for 12 years. He has extensive knowledge of Hmong history and culture. His proven leadership and communication skills have fostered unity and built partnerships within the Hmong community.

Attorney ThaoMee Xiong Vue holds a Juris Doctor degree and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. Her leadership and political experience make her a legal and legislative expert, a movement builder, and an inspirational leader. She is currently the Executive and Network Director for the Coalition of Asian American Leaders (CAAL).

Healthcare Workshop - 4:00 PM, Room A

Mrs. MaivLiag Vue earned Bachelor’s degrees in Secondary Education and Dental Hygiene and is a licensed dental hygienist. She is passionate and committed to educating patients on preventive strategies, focusing on family wellness and long-term health.

Mr. Loshi Vue earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. He has worked in hospitals and clinics and ran his private practice, supporting clients with a wide range of health concerns, including PCOS, diabetes, gout, cancer, thyroid conditions, heart disease, Parkinson’s disease, and more.

Mrs. Minnie Vue has a background in Business Administration and Optician Tech. She is a licensed health and life insurance producer with over ten years of experience in health insurance, billing, and finance.

Miss KaSua Vue holds a Bachelor’s of Nursing. Her experiences include long-term care with memory units and Transitional Care Units, inpatient cancer care, travel nursing, and outpatient nursing.

Women Workshop - 4:00 PM, Room B

Dr. Kaying Xiong Vue holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. She is an educator and lifelong learner with 30 years of experience in education and is well-versed in Hmong culture. She is uniquely positioned to mediate and bridge the young and the old.

Ms. Tria Yang earned a Master’s degree in Advocacy and Political Leadership. Her experience involved working closely with children and families, helping them access the support and services they need for healthy development and long-term success. She also strongly advocates for the Hmong Community, especially in empowering Hmong women through education and leadership.
